If you’re a brownie and you know it …

Oh! A blog! I’m so very excited! Ok, I will do my best to keep you updated on everything you should definitely know about us brownies. We get overlooked, which I admit is easy, since we are so very small!
[I’m sorry, Cousin Moss, I know you hate it when I use the word Brownie to describe us, but it has such a sweet little ring to it, doesn’t it just? Try it with me, Cousin, just once. BROWN-IE. People love the word. Why else would they name the best little dessert after us? ]

I am also so excited to tell you (so much that my ears feel warm! It’s weird!) that the book will be coming out soon that yours truly, Lichen the Brownie, will be its star! I will let you know when it’s ready, you can bet your pixy on that!

Ok, so I’m not in EVERY chapter, but a fair amount. My dear Cousin Moss got into a bit more, but I think this is in part because the author wanted to give me some privacy? Maybe he’s saving up stories about me for some other book? [I am available for interviews, Mr. Lewis!]

And of course, my friends Ruarc, Aidan, and Sasja are in there a lot, too! I think you should read it. Mr. Lewis did a pretty nice job at describing us and what happened those very many years ago! (Except I think I somersaulted thrice before landing, and he didn’t include that. It’s worth a mention. We brownies are very nimble, I think it’s the distant relationship to Sprites?)

Okay! That’s all for now–Cousin Bark’s expecting me to update her on what’s the latest word on these amazing American celebrities you have here in your country and their strange expressions in photographs!

Ta!

Lichen, the Brownie.

By J. Parrish Lewis

J. Parrish Lewis was born and raised in Maryland. In his youth there, he and his brother had many adventures in the dogwood forests near his home. His nostalgia for these adventures has strongly influenced his characters, their relationships, and their perspective on the world they inhabit. He moved to California’s coast to earn his degree in communications and now lives with his family in the San Joaquin Valley. Lewis is profoundly deaf and uses American Sign Language to communicate. He enjoys hazelnut coffee, captioned movies, and walking his dog.
